Perth Motorplex Spin Into Spring

Sunday was the Perth Motorplex's Spin Into Spring event. This event ran on a similar format to a Whoop Ass Wednesday and, just like the Wednesday events, catered to street legal cars and bikes, with a burnout session over on the Burson's Auto Parts Snake Pit to close out the event.

Perth Motorplex's 2022/23 Whoop Ass Wednesday Season Kicks Off

The Perth Motorplex's 2022/23 Whoop Ass Wednesday season kicked off this week with Hour of Power burnouts as the feature. This was also my first opportunity to get trackside with the new Canon EOS R3 I recently purchased to replace my Canon EOS 1D-X. The 1D-X has served me well over the past 8+ years and is now slotting into the backup role.

The Motorplex's next event is their Spin Into Spring off street drag racing and burnout even on Sunday, September 11th. This event follows a similar format to the Wednesday night events and are a nice relaxed chance to get some laps in on the Motorplex strip.

A Life Without Mirrors Awaits

Time for a little upgrade to the camera. While my Canon EOS 1D-X has served me incredibly well for over 8 years, it is after all, an 8 year old camera and has worked pretty hard over those years. Consequently, the 1D-X has now been bumped to second string duties with the arrival of my new Canon EOS R3. There has been a lot of hype about Canon's current mirrorless flagship and I can't wait to find out what all the fuss is about.
