Photo of the Day - November 14th, 2018
Today's Photo of the Day comes from the flight deck of the USS Hornet, a retired aircraft carrier turned floating museum at Alameda Point in Northern California. The F-14A Tomcat, build number 153879, in this shot was once a member of VF-14 and VF-41 before serving out it's days with VF-101, the Grim Reapers. As part of VF-41, this aircraft led the first strike in Iraq during 'Desert Storm', while operating from the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). This is just one of a number of out of service aircraft preserved here, both above and below decks. Photo of the Day - November 13th, 2018
Today's Photo of the Day comes from the Southern California Timing Association's (SCTA) SpeedWeek at Bonneville in 2010 and shows just one of the many different cars that turn up at this great event. Around 500 race teams entered for the 2010 event and thousands more turned up to spectate, with most of those driving from all corners of the mainland United States. This extended front end, chopped, Volkswagen Beetle was just one of those cool cruisers that made it to the 2010 event.

Today's Photo of the Day features Lake Placid, in Queensland. Lake Placid is part of the Barron River, and makes the entrance to Barron Gorge National Park. The lake has also been known to contain salt water crocodiles from time to time, although these are re-located when possible.

Photo of the Day - November 10th, 2018
Today is the first round of the Perth Motorplex's Championship Drag Racing Season, so the Photo of the Day features one of the cars you'll see there tonight. Al McClure is seen here at the last pre-season hitout, PowerPalooza, presented by Shannons Insurance, in his blown altered, competing in Top Competition. Al has been a regular driver here for many years, and always manages to bring a bit of excitement to the track.
Gates open today at 1pm, with the main feature kicking off at 5:30pm at the Perth Motorplex, tickets start at $25 for adults. For more information, check out the event page on the Motorplex website.
